Ming Style Teapot

Minimalist clay teapot with a clean, balanced silhouette and a natural earthy finish.  Its straight spout is reminiscent of a Ming-style teapot, allowing for efficient pouring. It also features a finely crafted golf-ball filter that helps ensure fast, smooth pouring.
 
The inscription on the shoulder, 鈿合丁寧改注茶經, originally came from the Dianhe Teapot, designed by Chen Mansheng and made by Yang Pengnian. It belongs to one of the famous 18 “Mansheng teapot” series.  
“钿合” means “钿盒,” a cosmetic box originally inlaid with gold foil and gold dust, used in ancient times as a token of betrothal between lovers. Chen Mansheng adapted this form into a teapot and inscribed it with “改注茶经” (“rewritten for the Tea Classic”), cleverly transforming the function of the jeweled box into a tea vessel and giving the object new cultural meaning and emotional significance.
